Embark on an unforgettable journey to Kashmir, lovingly referred to as 'Heaven on Earth', with this 8-night, 9-day Best of Kashmir tour package—an ideal summer getaway. Beginning in the capital city of Srinagar, a perfect blend of magical natural vistas and historical cultural charm awaits you. Your first day starts with a tranquil Shikara ride on the iconic Dal Lake as you pass by colorful floating gardens and get your first glimpse of the Himalayas in the distance. Afterwards, walk through the sprawling Mughal Gardens, including vast Nishat and Shalimar gardens lined with imposing fountains and pools set against a mountainous backdrop. Get a peek into Srinagar's heritage with a visit to the medieval Budshah Tomb and the unique Pathar Masjid, or 'Mosque of Stones'. When in Kashmir, nature is always calling out from every corner. Set forth to Pahalgam next, nestled in the Liddar Valley with a mesmerizing landscape of snow-clad mountains, undulating meadows dotted with alpine flowers, and dense pine forests. Spend two days in this town, which transforms into a popular Hindu pilgrimage site during the Amarnath Yatra. Camp overnight or take leisurely nature walks through pine-scented surroundings. On your way, capture sights of shepherd huts and the ruins of Avantipur Temple with a breathtaking view of the Lidderwat River. Continuing onward from Pahalgam unfolds the splendid Mughal Road, a passage like no other with vistas of quaint villages, rumbling waterfalls, and valleys swathed in flowers. The vibrant hue of alpine flora illuminates your drive to Gulmarg, the Meadow of Flowers, nestled at an altitude of 8,690 ft. Witness sprawling grasslands transform into a canvas of vibrant blooms such as bluebells, daisies, forget-me-nots, and buttercups during the summer. Two days are dedicated to soaking in Gulmarg's natural beauty, mixed with some adventure and sightseeing. Go horseback riding to Khilanmarg or opt for Asia’s highest-operating Gondola cable car. Savor views of majestic Himalayan peaks like Nanga Parbat. On our return journey to Srinagar, a stop at the ruins of Awantipur displays remnants of the 14th century and is probably one of the most spectacular architectural legacies of Kashmir. Back in Srinagar, no Kashmir trip is complete without shopping for handicrafts or savoring the famous vegetarian Wazwan cuisine. Laden with memories for a lifetime, depart from Srinagar with glimpses of having witnessed paradise on Earth over an action-packed week.
